Bone Frog Open - Irish Edition
Thank you for welcoming our Bone Frog Open series to the beautiful University of Notre Dame campus!
Bone Frog Open - Irish Edition is in the books and we are so grateful to our sponsors, donors, attendees, in-kind donors, and volunteers. You welcomed us to South Bend with open arms and we feel blessed. You helped us celebrate legacies and raise money to support military, first responders, and their families as a way of doing our part to thank these men and women for being the ones to run toward danger, not away from it.
The following sponsors made this inaugural event possible: Depatie, Jackson’s Cigars & Spirits, Mike Leep Sr., United Beverage, BCI Solutions, Dell and CDW, Final Phase Electric Co, and U.S. Diabetes Care. Special thank you to University of Notre Dame, Warren Golf Course, LaSalle Grill, Three Rangers Whiskey, and Mission BBQ for helping us put on a high quality event. And thank you to all of our foursomes for your participation and support of Bone Frog Open.
Over 200 attendees came to Dahnke Ballroom on Sunday, September 8 to learn more about Uncommon Grit Foundation and our support of military and first responders. We introduced sponsors Dell and CDW and talked about their donation of laptops to Millers Vets. Guests heard from our founder, D. “McB” McBurnett, 24-year Navy SEAL (Ret.), motivational speaker, photographer, artist, and author of the book Uncommon Grit. McB introduced his good friend Rob O’Neill, the Navy SEAL who shot Osama bin Laden, and Rob told a few stories about his time in the TEAMs. We also heard from Chief Warrant Officer 4 Mike Durant, pilot of one of two Black Hawk helicopters that crashed during the Battle of Mogadishu on October 3, 1993.
We live-auctioned some incredible items and guests had the opportunity to bid on many unique silent auction items as well. The evening ended with live comedy by Chris Porter, who had the room shaking with laughter.
Monday, September 9 was the Bone Frog Open Golf Outing, where 25 foursomes played the beautiful Warren Golf Course. Two holes had specialty features—one with long drive trick shot artist Trevor Consavage and the other with 13-pin flags and 13 chances for a hole-in-one. Post-golf was our awards ceremony, where the top team won custom belt buckles, and four randomly drawn teams also won buckles. Other prizes were randomly drawn, including etched bottles of wine, custom belts, and a whole host of raffle prizes. Nearly everyone left with something from the day.
If you missed the 2024 event, plan to join us in 2025. We look forward to it!
